How to Apply Mineral Makeup

Introduction

Many women know about mineral makeup and the benefits that come with using it but are not sure how to apply it. Keep reading to find out some simple tips to getting a flawless complexion using mineral makeup and a few basic brushes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You'll Need

    * Mineral concealer
    * Small concealer brush
    * Mineral foundation
    * Large kabuki brush
    * Mineral blush
    * Small kabuki brush
    * Mineral finishing powder

Steps

Step One
Wash and dry your face with a gentle cleanser. Apply moisturizer if needed, and allow it to completely absorb before applying your mineral makeup.

Step Two

Dip your concealer brush into the pot of mineral concealer (usually in a shade lighter than your foundation), getting a tiny bit on the tip of your brush. Apply the makeup directly to any blemishes or under-eye circles that you wish to cover up.

Step Three
Shake a little of your mineral foundation into the lid of your foundation container. Take your large kabuki brush and gently tap the bristles into the powder. Tap the brush on the side of the lid to shake off any excess until it looks as if your brush has no makeup on it at all.

Step Four
Use the kabuki brush to apply your mineral makeup in circular strokes over your entire face and neck area. Reapply to any areas that need a bit more coverage.

Step Five
Repeat the same process with your small kabuki brush and mineral blush, applying it to the apples of your cheeks or anywhere else that you would like to accent.

Step Six
Follow up with a light dusting of a mineral finishing powder, if you desire.

Tips & Warnings

    * When the seasons change, so should your foundation color. Stock up on two or three different shades, so that you look your best year-round.

    * Less is more with mineral makeup. Apply just a tiny bit and build from there.
